Veterans To Lay Wreath To Remind People Of Veterans Serving Away From Home This Christmas

Sheldon, Iowa — A solemn Christmas tradition will continue on Friday in Sheldon as members of the Sheldon American Legion Post 145 lay a wreath to honor soldiers, veterans, and fallen comrades at Christmas.

Mark Poyzer is one of those organizing the ceremony, and he tells us about it.

Poyzer says the ceremony has been well-received and respected when they have done it. The ceremony is this Friday, December 20th at the Sheldon Armed Services Memorial at Sheldon City Park at 5:00 p.m. The public is invited to the short ceremony. They say that, due to the cold weather, the ceremony will be brief, but it’s important to let the men and women who protect our nation know that they are being thought of, and appreciated, by the folks back home.

KIWA plans on broadcasting the ceremony live on Facebook Live beginning at 5 pm.
