Northwest Iowa — Temperatures in northwest Iowa are forecast to turn hot again for next week, and in the wake of the drowning deaths of three Iowa children recently, the Iowa Department of Public Health, along with the State Medical Examiner, are reminding parents, and others caring for children, to keep an eye on the children.
Acting State Medical Examiner Dennis Klein talks about the recent drownings.
A pair of two-year-old children and a six-year-old have died from drowning in the last week. In the latest incident, a toddler was found in a family’s swimming pool in Carroll. It happened Tuesday night.
But, Klein says the biggest factor in protecting children around water is direct supervision at all times.
While none of the recent spate of child drownings has occurred here in northwest Iowa, Klein reminds you to keep a close watch on your kids to avoid having it happen here.
