Foodie Friday:
It’s National Nachos’ Day!
Nachos were invented in 1943 by Ingacio “Nacho” Anaya in Mexico, across the boarder from Eagle Pass, Texas.
He hastily improvised the first plate for military officers’ wives whose group arrived after his restaurant’s kitchen had closed. It featured only three ingredients: freshly fried tortilla chips, shredded cheese and sliced pickled jalapenos.
