It’s National Macadamia Nut Day.
Macadamia nuts are nutrient-dense tree nuts native to Australia know for having the highest amount of monounsaturated fats of any nut.
They are named after JOhn Macadam, a Scottish-Australian chemist who researched them in the 1850s. The trees come from the rainforests of Queensland and New South Wales in Australia.
People also call them Queensland nuts, bush nuts, or bauple nuts.
