A widely popular weed control system has been in play for a few years now.
Soon, another element will be added to the effective system.
Bayer Crop Science provides growers the “weed control they’ve been looking for” through the RoundUp Ready Xtend Crop System. Ryan Rubischko, U.S. soy portfolio lead for Bayer Crop Science, speaks to this system, which is now in its third year.
“We’re now in our third full season, and we continue to see farmers across the U.S. adopt the technology quickly,” Rubischko said. “In soybeans, we’re seeing nearly 50 million acres of RoundUp Ready Xtend soybeans being planted. And we’re seeing even more farmers now utilizing Dicamba in those post-applications for effective weed control.”
Rubischko notes, “Weed control is not getting any easier.” The RoundUp Ready Xtend Crop System, however, is helping farmers overcome such challenges, providing effective weed control.
“They (farmers) continue to see good control with Xtendimax and Dicamba formulations. I think that is why we see the adoption of this system continue to grow – Because of the weed control coupled with the yield they’re seeing in the fall timeframe,” Rubischko said.
Bayer Crop Science aims to provide effective weed control options well into the future. Lisa Streck, North America soybean launch lead for Bayer Crop Science, speaks to a new weed control method, which offers farmers greater flexibility.
“XtendFlex soybeans will be our next product,” Streck said. “It will provide growers tolerance to dicamba, glufosinate and glyphosate, and provide farmers with extra flexibility and another tool for their resistant and tough to control weeds.”
XtendFlex soybeans will be launched this spring, pending regulatory approval.
