Free Swine Production Seminar Coming To Okoboji March 29

Okoboji, Iowa — Swine producers are invited to attend a one-day swine production seminar on March 29 in Okoboji. The program will focus on current topics most critical to the industry and swine business.

According to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Swine Specialist Dave Stender, the featured speakers will include Jon Greteman of Commodity & Ingredient Hedging, LLC, who’ll speak on “Responding to Market Volatility and What to Look For;” Dusty Compart and Daryl Timmerman of Compeer Financial who will speak on “Helping Producers Achieve Their Potential; Who Will Do It Best?”; Derald Holtkamp from Vet Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine at Iowa State University, speaking on “Biosecurity… How to Address Where Farms Are Most Vulnerable and Create an Action Plan;” and Tom Koch, of Hubbard Feeds speaking on “How to Compete for the Best Talent in the Field.”

Following the speakers, there will be time for an open discussion and questions.

Stender tells us the program runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Arrowwood Resort Conference Center located at 1405 HWY 71 in Okoboji. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided at noon.

He says the seminar and lunch are provided at no charge thanks to the sponsorship of Hubbard Feeds, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, the University of Minnesota Extension, and Elanco.
