Grand opening set for new Pivot Bio office in Ames

IARN — The team at Pivot Bio has had a lot of reasons to celebrate this summer.

In July, the company not only launched its new second generation product PROVEN40, but it also secured $430 million in Series D funding. Later this month, the company will also host a grand opening of its new office in Ames. Pivot Bio’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 26th at 2710 South Loop Drive in Ames. Tours and lunch will take place following a short program.

IARN recently spoke with Mark Reisinger, Pivot Bio’s vice president of commercial operations. He said it’s been a busy, but successful summer for the company.

“Pivot Bio is a startup,” said Reisinger. “We started up in 2011. We’ve been through multiple rounds where we’ve had investors put financing into us to build a business. This last round, we were blessed to have approximately $430 million invested in our company based on our product and its take amongst the agriculture community. For the last three years, we’ve sold out. That is something that is very appealing to investors, of course, and so we’ve seen a lot of success.”

Reisinger explained that Pivot Bio has transformed the way fertilizer is used by the world’s farmers. He says their microbes offer farmers a more efficient and sustainable nitrogen to fuel their crops. Farmers can learn more information about their products and services online.

“It’s real easy,” said Reisinger. “Just go to pivotbio.com and you can find a rep locator. We don’t sell through retail. Generally speaking, we sell through a rep community – similar to germplasm or seeds – so they can look at our rep locator, find someone near them, and ask them the same kind of questions they want to ask me.”

Pivot Bio asks guests to register for the grand opening by Thursday, August 19th. Registration can be done here.
