IARN — The team at GROWMARK has put some restructuring in place for transportation services in order to meet customer needs of the future.
GROWMARK communications manager Amy Bradford says GROWMARK logistics includes brokerage services specializing in transporting and storing liquid fuel, propane, anhydrous ammonia, bulk and packaged motor oils, and crop inputs including seed, liquid, and dry fertilizer and bulk and packed crop protection products. She provides an update on some of their transportation restructuring.
“Things are happening really fast and we need to be able to meet the demands in a timely way,” said Bradford. “We have created some new positions and moved some people around. It’s all designed to make sure we deliver an unsurpassed customer experience to our customers. The customers are both our FS member cooperatives and the retail direct to the customer and consumer and farmer. We believe that by giving us a little bit more structure, giving some new positions that focus on talent and development and customer service, we really are positioning ourselves for the future in dealing with that.”
Bradford explains some of GROWMARK’s transportation goals.
“The way our transportation works with the products and services is they go to the FS member coop and then they deliver to the farmer,” said Bradford. “Like others in the Ag industry, there were some supply chain issues this last spring. There were supply chain issues in terms of not being able to get anhydrous for instance. That pushed us back and didn’t deliver to the farmer on time. That’s a challenge. We trying to shore that up here. It’s not like we’re never going to miss another deadline, but we want to do everything we can to make sure we hit those.”
