John Deere Dealership To Be Built In Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa — One of the John Deere dealerships in northwest Iowa is announcing they are going to construct a new facility in Sioux Center.

AgriVision Equipment Group, LLC has announced they will be expanding their footprint. They say the new facility will serve customers in the agricultural, residential and construction markets.

Construction on the new facility will begin in the Spring of 2020. They tell us the shop will be sized to house 30 technicians to better service the local customer needs. The state-of-the-art facility will be equipped with overhead cranes, a large area for combine/forage harvester storage, expanded parts inventory, wash bay and training facilities. Once established, the new location will employ 30 to 50 people, bringing new jobs to the area.

Company officials tell us that their nearby location in Doon will continue to be open and serve customers, but the dealership in Ireton will be moving to Sioux Center.

Jeremy Ostrander, CEO and one of the founding members of AgriVision Equipment, says that they have experienced significant growth over the last few years in northwest Iowa and have outgrown their Ireton facility. He says that the strength of the livestock and row crop sector, along with healthy economic growth in Northwest Iowa was a motivating factor when choosing a location for expansion. Ostrander says, “This is an exciting step in our long-term commitment to the customers, employees and communities in and around Sioux County.”

AgriVision Equipment has 17 locations and 450 plus employees, serving customers throughout Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Missouri.

Sioux Center City Councilman Dale Den Herder says that it’s really a “win-win-win situation.” He says, “It’s a win for the community. It’s a win for the neighboring businesses here in Sioux
Center. And it’s a win for the John Deere customers.”

The 15-acre property where AgriVision hopes to build along north Highway 75 is currently owned by the city of Sioux Center. The council set a public hearing for November 26 at 4 p.m. to consider the sale of city-owned property to AgriVision and authorized a letter of intent outlining development incentives for the project.
