Farmland values continue to be up for first half of the year

IARN — We have been seeing some record-breaking land prices in Iowa in the past few months, and the trend just isn’t being seen within our borders. The prices for good farmland have continued to remain high despite the economic setbacks we have had so far this year.

What is causing this phenomenon and how long can it be sustained?

Randy Dickhut is Senior Vice President of Real Estate Options at the Farmers National Company. He gives us an analysis of what is giving strength to this land market. One of the main drivers is grain prices.
