(IARN) — All countries have their own policies for making sure their citizens are kept safe. This includes the policies for importing food from other countries. As will tend to happen, years of amendments, changes, and updates can make policy confusing for countries who are trying to export their products. Recently, Canada has simplified its regulations allowing red meat imports into the country, thanks to help from the United States.
The requirements for pork, beef, and lamb entering Canada have been simplified and made clearer. This is because of a joint effort between Canada’s Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
