Hull, Iowa — A baler was destroyed in a fire near Hull on Wednesday.
Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel says firefighters were called to 270th and Ibex for a hay baler on fire at about ten minutes before 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
He says they arrived to find the baler fully engulfed and a bale outside of it on fire as well. Luckily, the tractor had been pulled away from the baler. He says they fought the fire with water and foam.
It is believed to have been due to a malfunction of some type. No injuries were reported, but the baler and bale were totaled and a little bean ground was burned. Van Roekel says they were there for between 20 minutes and a half an hour.
