Sibley, Iowa — The Sioux Falls Community Blood Bank will be holding its next blood drive this Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at the Osceola Regional Health Center in Sibley.
Hospital and blood bank officials ask you to please take some time out of your day and give the gift of life. They tell us the life you save may be someone you know.
If you have donated blood elsewhere but not in Sibley, the process is a little different there. Instead of calling the blood bank or signing up to donate online, they ask you to call the Osceola Regional Health Center to make an appointment at 712-754-5358. All donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at cbblifeblood.org), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. You can donate blood every 56 days.
Community Blood Bank Executive Director Ken Ver Steeg says most cancer survivors can now give blood much sooner than before.
Again, the requirement is now only ONE year after your cancer-free diagnosis.
The Community Blood Bank is the sole supplier of all blood and blood products for Osceola Regional Health Center.
Blood bank and hospital officials remind us that no hospitals in our area, including Osceola Regional Health Center receive any blood or blood products from the American Red Cross.
