Le Mars, Iowa — If your junior high or senior high school student attends Gehlen Catholic School, this year is going to be a little different there.
Administrators tell us the school will not be allowing students to carry cell phones. Here’s principal Bryan Paulson.
He tells us why they are taking the step.
Mr. Paulson tells us since the school started trying the idea out in the spring, he says it won’t come as a shock to the students.
Paulson says the school will allow cell phone use for medical or emergency reasons. He says students will be able to access their phones in the school office for emergency situations, and parents can still get a hold of their students by calling the school or by email.
