Doon Man Facing Over 50 Charges Of Sex Abuse Against Minors

Rock Rapids, Iowa (KTIV) — A Northwest Iowa man has been arrested, with authorities saying that for over a decade, he has committed several acts of sexual abuse against minors.

Court documents show 41-year-old Mark Boender of Doon was arrested on March 1, 2026. He is facing 51 charges in Lyon County, Iowa, including child endangerment, indecent contact with a child, sexual abuse, lascivious acts with a child, and incest.

Authorities are accusing Boender of sexually abusing multiple individuals, including several minors. According to court documents, these incidents of sexual abuse happened from 2014 to 2026, and the victims were as young as 7 years old and as old as 19.

Boender has not entered a plea to the charges and is being held on a $356,000 bond. His initial appearance in court is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at the Lyon County Courthouse.
