Sioux Center, Iowa — Dordt University set a record enrollment this fall with 1,943 total students, the largest enrollment in Dordt’s history, exceeding the fall 2023 record of 1,911.
This fall’s enrollment broke other institutional records as well with more total degree-seeking undergraduate students than ever before, at 1,581; and 460 first-time degree-seeking students.
Dordt reports more than 1,600 full-time students enrolled – the fourth year in a row that Dordt has seen an increase in headcount and full-time equivalent enrollment.
Director of Admissions at Dordt University, Greg Van Dyke, says the record enrollment reflects the value students find in both the education and the community. He says it speaks to the meaningful connections students build with professors and peers which creates a supportive environment where students succeed academically and grow personally.
Dordt’s Registrar, Jim Bos, says that the record enrollment shows Dordt works hard to find students who fit the mission and want a Christian education from a Reformed perspective. He says it’s evidenced in Dordt’s freshmen-to-sophomore retention rate of 84.7%, one of the best retention rates in Dordt’s history. He says it shows that Dordt recruits students “who fit”, and they feel comfortable and enjoy their Dordt experience enough to come back.
