FEMA Centers To Be Closed On Sundays

Cherokee, Iowa — The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Cherokee has new operating hours.

According to Cherokee County Emergency Management, the Center is now open from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday, and is closed on Sundays. In fact, FEMA has announced that all Disaster Recovery Centers in northwest Iowa will now be closed on Sundays. The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Cherokee is located at the former Work Services Building at 322 Lake Street.

The Disaster Recovery Center provides one-on-one help for those affected by flooding and severe storms. Recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide information on available services, explain, assistance programs, and help survivors complete or check the status of their applications.
