Sheldon, Iowa– A Hartley man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Sheldon on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 4:00 p.m., 59-year-old Michael Reis of Hartley was driving a 2011 Ram pickup northbound on Highway 60, about three miles north of Sheldon.
The report says that Reis crossed a bridge and lost traction and control due to the surface being icy. The pickup went sideways into the median and rolled and landed on its side in the southbound lane of Highway 60.
SCAT took Reis to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.
Reis’s Ram pickup sustained $25,000 in damages, and was totaled in the accident.
