Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred in the early morning hours on Wednesday, March 4th, 2026.
Sheldon Police Chief Eric Meinecke says that about 3:45 a.m. that day, the Sheldon Police Department received a call from an individual stating that there was an intruder in their home, and that the caller had fired a shotgun in the direction of the fleeing intruder.
He says police immediately responded and have launched an investigation into the matter. No injuries have been reported, and the incident remains under investigation.
