Hull, Iowa — A Hull man has been arrested on a felony drug charge after someone gave the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office a tip.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Austin Vanden Brink of Hull is accused of attempting to sell prescription drugs. He was arrested on Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office tells us the arrest stemmed from a tip reporting that Vanden Brink was attempting to sell prescription drugs. Vanden Brink was later stopped as a passenger in a vehicle where deputies tell us he was found to be in possession of prescription drugs.
Vanden Brink was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and prohibited acts-prescription drug violation.
The possession with intent to deliver charge is, in this case, a class B felony. If convicted, Vanden Brink could face up to 25 years in prison.
He faces a preliminary hearing on July 1st.
Vanden Brink was booked into the Sioux County Jail in Orange City, and was released the next day after posting a $10,000 bond.
