Sioux County (Sioux County Radio) — Two hospital leaders serving Sioux County communities are being recognized nationally for their leadership in rural healthcare.
Becker’s Hospital Review has named Cory Nelson, CEO of Sioux Center Health, and Marty Guthmiller, CEO of Orange City Area Health System, to its 2025 list of “103 Critical Access Hospital Presidents and CEOs to Know.”
The national recognition highlights leaders who are expanding access to care, strengthening partnerships, and improving health outcomes in rural communities.
Sioux Center Health Board Chair Nathan Bakker says the recognition reflects Nelson’s leadership and the organization’s growth.
Nelson says he views the recognition as a reflection of the entire Sioux Center Health team.
Guthmiller, who has served as CEO of Orange City Area Health System since 1994, says the recognition represents the people working within the organization.
Guthmiller says Orange City Area Health System is well-positioned for the future because of its staff and leadership.
According to Becker’s Hospital Review, leaders selected for the list are recognized for advancing clinical excellence, patient safety, and long-term sustainability in rural healthcare systems.
