But Pastor Deb Rensink is determined to make sure survivors know their stories are heard—and that a path forward exists.
Speaking on KIWA’s Talk of the Town recently, Rensink shared the mission behind her non-profit, Whispers of Love, Hope & Joy. Designed as a compassionate haven, the organization works directly with victims of domestic abuse to provide confidential support, emotional guidance, and practical aid when it matters most.
She tells us a little about the organization.
Rensink says domestic violence seemed more visible during and since COVID, but it’s always been common.
She says victims often blame themselves.

They’re also doing a fundraiser on Saturday, October 10th at Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City. It’s a benefit brunch, and it runs from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. A local author will be the speaker, and you’ll be able to hear testimonies from people that the organization has helped.
