Mosquito Control Truck Destroyed In Little Rock Fire

Little Rock, Iowa — A mosquito spraying truck was destroyed in a fire on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Little Rock.

According to Little Rock Fire Chief Austin Kannegieter, at about 2:30 p.m., the Little Rock Fire Department was called to the report of a pickup on fire at 710 Lyon Street in Little Rock.

The chief says the fire department saw the pickup fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.

Kannegieter says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire appeared to be that something shorted in the mosquito sprayer.

Chief Kannegieter reports that the rig was totaled.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about a half hour.
