One Person Taken To Hospital After Accident In Sheldon

Sheldon, Iowa– One person was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sheldon on Monday, September 23, 2024.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that at about 6:50 p.m. , 67-year-old Lloyd Webb of Sheldon was driving a 1997 Dodge pickup westbound on Highway 18, near Washington Avenue. They tell us that 17-year-old Halli Schwager of Sheldon was westbound behind Webb on 18 in a 2020 GMC SUV.

The report says that Webb was stopped at a red traffic light. They tell us Schwager did not see Webb stopped at the traffic light. Schwager stated she was not able to see due to the sun obscuring her vision, and her vehicle rear-ended the Webb vehicle at the traffic light.

After the accident, the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team (SCAT) was paged for someone who was involved in an accident at this intersection, but the police report does not tell us who that was.

Webb’s Dodge pickup sustained $100 in damages, and Schwager’s GMC SUV sustained $10000 in damages.

No charges were filed.
