Over 40 Cats From NW Iowa Flown To New Jersey To Ease Shelters Here That Are Over Capacity

Regional – Over 40 cats from northwest Iowa were flown to New Jersey to find homes due to increased flooding here that led to a surplus of cats in shelters. The relocation was organized by Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site.

The cats, all homeless and adoptable, are from People For Pets in Spencer and the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa. They were loaded onto a plane in Sioux Falls and flown to Atlantic City.

The move aims to alleviate pressure on Iowa shelters and find these cats loving homes. Upon arrival, the cats will be taken to the Animal Welfare Association for adoption.
