Northwest Iowa (Sioux County Radio) — Premier Communications is warning customers about a scam message that falsely claims to be from the company.

The message, which has been circulating online, tells recipients that unusual activity has been detected on their account and urges them to click a link to verify account information. It also includes a deadline, claiming that restrictions will remain on the account unless action is taken within 48 hours.

Premier Communications says the message is not legitimate.

Company officials say urgent deadlines and pressure tactics are common warning signs of phishing scams. They also point to grammar and formatting issues in the message as additional red flags.

Premier reminds customers it will never ask for sensitive account information, passwords, or payment details through suspicious links, texts, or social-media messages.

Customers who receive a message like this are encouraged not to click any links or provide personal information. Instead, they should contact Premier Communications directly to verify whether a message is legitimate.

Officials also encourage customers to report and delete suspicious messages and help spread awareness to prevent others from becoming victims.
