(KIWA Staff Photo)Iowa (RI) — With a third straight day of heavy rain, the flood watch has been extended to cover 40 counties from southwest to northeast Iowa.
Meteorologist Dylan Dodson at the National Weather Service says localized street flooding has been reported where rainfall has been most persistent.
Motorists are urged to use caution and expect delays. Rivers and streams are expected to rise significantly within their banks, but most are forecast to remain below flood stage.
Dodson says the pattern isn’t likely to change much in the coming days.
High temperatures statewide should stay mostly in the 70s and low 80s through Saturday, with rain likely each day.
