Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man has been arrested on burglary charges in Rock Valley.
According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the Rock Valley Police Department, 18-year-old Carlos Cuellar Argueta of Rock Valley is accused of entering a home uninvited. He was arrested on Tuesday.
In his statement, the officer says that on December 10, Cuellar Argueta entered an apartment in Rock Valley. The victim reported two books of checks were missing and several items were allegedly tampered with. The officer says there is video evidence and Cuellar Argueta allegedly admitted to law enforcement that he had been inside the apartment. He also admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day and a breath test also indicated the presence of alcohol in his system.
Cuellar Argueta was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. If convicted, Cuellar Argueta could face up to five years in prison.
No court dates have yet been set in the case.
Cuellar Argueta was released the same day he was arrested after posting a $5000 bond.
