Rock Valley Woman Faces Felony Burglary Charge After Incident In Inwood

Inwood, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman has been arrested on felony burglary charges after an incident at an Inwood home.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Lyon County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 45-year-old Traci Landegent of Rock Valley is accused of being in a house she had no right to be in. She was arrested on Thursday.

In his statement, the deputy says the victim came home after work and discovered Landegent in his house without any right to be there. She was allegedly caught with property of the victim in her hands and there were also clear signs she had been searching throughout the house, according to the deputy.

Landegent was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony. If convicted, she could face up to ten years in prison.

She faces a preliminary hearing on the charges on Monday, September 23rd.

At last report, Landegent remained in the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids in lieu of a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
