(KIWA Staff Photo)Larchwood, Iowa — A second Sioux Falls woman has been arrested on burglary charges for her role in an alleged incident in Larchwood.
A criminal complaint filed by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office in district court accuses 41-year-old Kalee Calsbeek of Sioux Falls of breaking into a storage unit or units and stealing items. She was arrested on Thursday.
In his statement, the deputy says the alleged crime happened on September 1st or 2nd, when the sheriff’s office took the report of a possible burglary at the storage facility on Sports Loop Drive in Larchwood. The deputy says they have video surveillance footage showing two females using a bolt cutter to cut a lock on a storage unit and entering the unit. He says his office worked with South Dakota authorities to identify the vehicle and women involved. Calsbeek’s co-defendant, 39-year-old Jodie Marie Williams of Sioux Falls, was arrested on September 23rd.
Calsbeek was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison. She also faces a misdemeanor count of possession of burglar’s tools.
A preliminary hearing has been set for October 5th.
Calsbeek was booked into the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids, and was released two days later after posting a $5,000 bond.
