Washington, DC (RI) — Iowa Senator Joni Ernst says a bill she is working on in the Ag Committee would address some of the concerns with the recent flooding in Texas, and past floods in Iowa.
Ernst says. Ernst says it brings everyone together to work on the problem.
The USDA would team up with the landowners in restoration activities like removing levees and replanting native species that are critical for reducing the flood risk and improving natural habitat.
Ernst says Democrat Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado is co-sponsoring the bill with her.
