Sheldon, Iowa — People everywhere continue to remember, honor, and celebrate the life of Dolly Parton and her legacy after her death this week.
One of the programs she founded is in existence locally. Jessica Brink of Sheldon is the area coordinator helping to make Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library available in the Sheldon Community School District. She tells us the history of the program and how she spearheaded the effort in our area.
Brink tells us how it works.
She says while Dolly Parton started the program, local people continue to fund the program, so while Parton’s death hits hard, the program will continue.
She says the Sheldon area program has been very successful.
