Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from two previous meetings, the list of claims, financial reports, the retirement of Roy Johannes from the wastewater department, the approval of a beer permit for Family Dollar, the resignation of Kayla Leikvold, the approval of the mayor’s appointment of Dennis Kruger to the cemetery board, and the council’s appointment of Kyle Henen to the airport commission. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.
In new business, the council will consider the approval of a street operator and grounds maintenance job description and authorization to advertise for the opening. They also will consider a request for the reimbursement of attorney fees.
After that, they plan to go into closed session to discuss two items — the consideration of city manager candidates and the possible purchase of property.
The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
