Sheldon City Council To Meet Wednesday

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.

On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims, financial reports, a resignation from Jackson Kleinwolterink on the Parks and Rec Board, a resolution fixing the date and time for a meeting on the proposal to reallocate certain unspent proceeds of some capital loan notes, and the approval of Jordan Donahue and Trevor Fuerstenberg to be members of the Sheldon Emergency Management Agency. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.

The council will also hear the oaths of office for Emergency Management Director Travis Buyert and Assistant Director Jared Holtrop.

In new business, the council will consider a resolution that would authorize the removal of a 1996 minimum assessment agreement for the Super 8 Motel and a new agreement with Center Benefits for HR Services.

They will also have a time of public comment on the budget workshop. They will also consider how to proceed with Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and the Local Option Sales Tax (abbreviated LOST). They will also have a levy review and do a budget recap.

The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers and is available on YouTube.
