Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon in the council chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center across 9th Street from KIWA Radio.
On their consent agenda are the meeting minutes from the previous meeting, the list of claims; the confirmation of the mayor’s appointment of Dr. Ryan Becker to the airport commission; a request from Sheldon Scoop for a street closure on September 28th; the approval of a liquor license renewal for Cook’s, Langer’s, and The Lounge; and the approval of the O’Brien County Snowtrackers’ route through Sheldon. Unless a council member requests that an item be pulled out of the consent agenda to vote on separately, the entire consent agenda will be voted on in a single motion.
In new business, the council will get a report from O’Brien County Economic Development from Kiana Johnson, consider the approval of an engineering agreement for the North 5th Avenue Lift Station Relocation Project, consider the approval of a pay estimate for the Wyman & 16th Street Drainage Project, consider the approval of a change order and a pay estimate on the West Park Street and D Street Drainage Project, discuss a nuisance at 315 West 8th Street, discuss the speed limit on East 6th Street, and possibly go into closed session in regard to a potential purchase of land.
They will also receive zoning and code enforcement reports.
