Sioux County Democrats Organizing Pro-Immigrant Rally For Monday Night

Sioux Center, Iowa — In the wake of the unrest in Minnesota, an area political group is organizing a rally to support immigrants.

Anita Cirulis, the Chair of the Sioux County Democrats, tells us they are hosting a Pro-Immigrant Rally on Monday, February 2nd, at 5:00 p.m. in front of the Sioux Center Public Library.

They say what they call “this peaceful event along Highway 75 in Sioux Center” is designed to show their support of our immigrant neighbors, colleagues, students, and classmates. During this time of uncertainty, the message says they want to publicly affirm immigrants’ presence and their rights. Cirulis says they also want to send a message to our legislators that the mistreatment of immigrants happening in Minnesota and around the country is unacceptable.

For more information, they tell us you can contact the rally organizer, Kim Van Es, at 712-441-7164.
