Hull, Iowa — A George man was taken to a hospital after an accident on Tuesday, August 13th, near Hull.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, about 12:10 p.m., 55-year-old Anthony Smythe of Primghar was driving a 2021 Peterbilt semi-tractor pulling a milk tank-trailer westbound on Highway 18, three miles east of Hull. They tell us that 75-year-old John De Vries of George was driving a 2008 Ford Focus eastbound on Highway 18, when he crossed the center line and struck the trailer.
The Hull Ambulance took DeVries to Sioux Center Health.
The Smythe Peterbilt and trailer sustained approximately $12,000 in damage, and the De Vries Ford sustained approximately $7,000 in damage.
DeVries was cited on a charge of driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway.
The sheriff’s office tells us the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance assisted them.
