Sutherland, Iowa — Sheldon’s not the only town with festivities going on this weekend. We told you about Hawarden’s Big Sioux River Days earlier this week. But Sutherland also has their Labor Day Celebration happening as well.
Saturday’s activities include a 5k run and walk, a softball tournament, a community breakfast, garage sales & downtown deals, food trucks, pickleball and cornhole tournaments, a community supper, live music, and a fireworks show.
On Sunday, there’s a worship service in the park, a pork loin lunch, a car show, root beer floats and snowcones sold to help update the ballfield, a tractor ride, a burnout contest, a fun run, a hamburger and brat supper, and a street dance, among other events to check out.
On Labor Day Monday in Sutherland, they’ll have a sausage and pancake breakfast, a craft and trade show, a parade, fun in the park, a hot dog eating contest, a volleyball tournament, kids’ water fights, a horse show, pedal tractor pulls, and more.
