Okoboji, Iowa (KUOO) — The latest beach-monitoring data from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources show swimming is still not recommended at a public beach on the southwest side of West Lake Okoboji.
The weekly report issued Thursday continued to show high E. coli levels at the beach in the Emerson Bay Recreation Area.
Other monitored beaches in the Iowa Great Lakes region were listed as okay for swimming at the time of the report. That includes:
- Crandall’s Beach
- Marble Beach
- Ainsworth Beach
- Pikes Point
- Triboji
- Gull Point
