Northwest Iowa — We’ve been dealing with extreme cold and extreme windchill for the past few days. Is that going to continue?
We talked with meteorologist Kyle Weiser with the Sioux Falls office of the National Weather Service. They write the official weather forecasts for our area. Weiser tells us we’re going to gradually emerge from the extreme, dangerous conditions, but it’s still going to be quite cold.
He says it’s still going to be very cold overnight, especially with the wind chill.
Weiser tells us that we will warm up a little by midweek — if you can call it that.
Normal highs for this time of year are in the mid-20s . We asked him how long it would be until we got back to normal.
This Tuesday in Sheldon, the weather service says to expect sunny conditions, with a high near 3 above and wind chill values as low as 36 below zero.
