Sheldon, Iowa – The City of Sheldon has announced two finalists for the position of City Manager. Following a national recruitment process and detailed screening process, two candidates have been selected to move forward in the process.
City officials say the finalists are Heidi Kramer of Hull, and Joe Darter of East Peoria Illinois.
The candidates have already completed an initial screening process and virtual interviews. The next phase will provide the Sheldon community and City leadership with an opportunity to learn more about each finalist and assess their experience, leadership approach, and vision for the City of Sheldon.
The City invites residents, business owners, community leaders, and other interested members of the public to meet the finalists at a community meet-and-greet on Friday, October 9, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The event will be held on the 3rd floor of the Community Services Center at 416 9th Street.
The meet-and-greet will provide an informal opportunity for members of the community to meet the candidates, ask questions, and learn more about their backgrounds and approach to municipal leadership.
On Saturday, October 10, the finalists will participate in a series of structured panel interviews with representatives from throughout the Sheldon community. The panels will include elected officials, members of the City’s leadership team, and civic leaders.
The City of Sheldon appreciates the participation of residents, employees, elected officials, and community leaders throughout the recruitment process. Community input is an important part of the City’s effort to identify the individual who will best serve Sheldon as its next City Manager.
