Le Mars, Iowa (Courtesy KCRG-TV/With additional reporting by KIWA Staff) — The Iowa Department of Corrections is investigating after two K-9s died, apparently in Le Mars.
The Department confirms both deaths happened this week.
Officials are trying to determine exactly what happened.
Media representatives have reached out to authorities to ask where the animals were located, as well as if anyone is facing charges for the deaths, with no response.
A social media post indicates the deaths were “due to a vehicle malfunction” and thanks Le Mars emergency responders for their lifesaving efforts.
A spokesperson for the Department of Corrections has said that since this is an ongoing investigation, they cannot comment further at this time.
