Hull, Iowa – Two people were transported to the Sioux Center Hospital following a crash early Friday evening (April 25th) near Hull.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred shortly after 5:30 Friday evening a mile north of Hull when a 2018 Kia Sedona, driven by 35-year-old Brian Van Der Waal of Hull stopped on Hickory Avenue to make a left turn onto 310th Street, when the vehicle was struck from behind by a northbound 2010 Ford Edge, driven by 22-year-old Leah Rozeboom of Hull. Deputies say that both vehicles entered the east ditch as a result of the collision.
Two passengers in the Van Der Waal vehicle were taken by the Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment for what authorities describe as “minor injuries.”
Authorities estimate damage to the Van Der Waal vehicle at $15, 000, with an estimated $8,000 damage to the Rozeboom vehicle.
Deputies say Rozeboom was cited for following too closely, while Van Der Waal was cited for failure to secure a child.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance.
