Delores Hatting1Delores Hatting, age 63, of Ashton, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at her home in Ashton.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. Mr. Elmer Hatting officiating. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Ashton, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, December 8, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.

Delores Darlene Hatting was born on January 2, 1951 in Watertown, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Charles Edward and June (Berry) King. She lived her youth and attended school in Watertown until she was in junior high. She moved with her family to Terrill, Iowa. In 1969, she graduated from Terrill High School.

She was united in marriage to Erwin Frank Hatting of Ashton, Iowa on September 26, 1972 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. They lived in Spirit Lake, Lake Park and Melvin, Iowa until 1986, when they moved to the Hatting Family Farm in Ashton, Iowa.

Delores worked at Still’s Lawn Ornaments and Taxidermy in Sheldon and later at Aalf’s Manufacturing, until 1996, when she quit working due to her health.

She was a baptized member of the United Methodist Church.

Delores enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafts and playing Bingo with the ladies in Ashton and playing cards with her family. She especially loved Christmas, being with the family and spoiling the grandchildren.

She passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her home in Ashton.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 42 years: Erwin Hatting of Ashton, IA; two sons: Tony and wife Cindy Hatting of Scranton, IA, Terry and wife Dawn Hatting of Hull, IA; one daughter: Tanya Barron and special friend Philip Fuoss of Spencer, IA; one step-son: Walter Trimble of Othello, WA; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Donald and wife Kim King of Milford, IA, Danny and wife Shirley King of Round Lake, MN, Doug King of Sioux Falls, SD; three sisters: Diane Thornburg of Spencer, IA, Debbie and husband Jim Veen of Worthington, MN, Denise Snyder of Worthington, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: David King; two sisters: Darla King and Dorothy King.
