Don Andringa, age 81, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at George Samaritan Society in George, Iowa.
Private Family Funeral Service will be Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service. Rev. Paul Van Maaren officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.

Donald LeRoy Andringa was born on August 20, 1933 in Hartley, Iowa. He was the son of Fredrick and Elizabeth (De Boer) Andringa. He lived his youth in the Hartley and Archer, Iowa areas and graduated from Archer High School.
He was united in marriage to Margene “Midge” Frances DeKok of Archer, Iowa on August 5, 1954 in Archer. They lived on the family farm in rural Archer until they moved to Sheldon, Iowa whereDon worked for his brother, Jack, at Andringa Construction. When his brother died, Don startedAndringa Roofing in Sheldon, retiring in 1998, after owning and operating his business for 32 years.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheldon.
Don enjoyed traveling to visit family in California and Florida. He was an avid reader and enjoyed studying History and Genealogy. He raised Chesapeake and German Shorthair dogs and enjoyed hunting pheasants and ducks. He liked to sing. He especially enjoyed doing things with the family, his grandchildren and great grandchild meant a lot to him.
He passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society in George, Iowa.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Midge Andringa of Sheldon, IA; two sons: Greg and wife Janet Andringa of Sheldon, IA, Mike Andringa of Sheldon, IA; two grandchildren: Samantha (Doug) Haupert of Boyden, IA, Judd Lee Andringa of Sheldon, IA; one great-grandchild: Addison Haupert; one sister: Gladys Bajema of Whitinsville, MA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
