Donald “Don” Kruger, age 68 of Sibley, IA died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the Sibley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sibley, IA.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 15th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Barb Kopperud officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 14th with family present from 2 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley.

Donald Lee Kruger was born on January 4, 1945, the son of John E. and Gertrude (Schilling) Kruger. He attended country school and later attended and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1963. He worked for George Burns while in high school and worked for Osceola Co-op creamery after graduation. Don then worked for AMPI for 43 years and retired when they closed the plant on February 17, 2006. On April 15, 1966, Don was united in marriage to Phyllis Harms at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA and to this union four children were born, Amy, Lisa, Darrin and Dawn. Don and Phyllis lived in Sibley all of their married life. Earlier in life Don was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, where he was confirmed and served as an usher. Later he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, coin collecting, going to flea markets and antique shops, doing yard work and gardening, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
This past Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Don passed away at the Sibley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sibley at the age of 68.
Don is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Phyllis Kruger of Sibley, IA; four children, Amy (Gary) Moet of North Liberty, IA, Lisa (Matt) Tangeman of Saraland, AL, Darrin (Susan) Kruger, and their son, Easton Kruger of Milford, IA and Dawn (Justin) Sorenson, and their children, Reid and Rylie Sorenson of Spirit Lake, IA; one brother, Darvin (Therese) Kruger of St. Cloud, MN; two brothers-in-law, Gene Harms of Milford, IA and Merle (Lois) Harms of Story City, IA; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Kruger; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Larry Smid; brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Shirley Kruger; and sister-in-law, Geri Harms.
