Donna Ann DeBoer was born November 5, 1941 in George, Iowa, the daughter of Henry H. and Lavonne (Ubbinga) Dietz.  She grew up northwest of George and graduated from George High School in 1959.

She was united in marriage on August 4, 1961 to Eugene DeBoer at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, IA.  Together they lived most of their life on the family farm, milking cows and raising sheep, hogs and dogs. Donna also operated Donna’s Ceramic Gifts for several years. She later worked at Lyon Manor in the Dietary Department for several years. She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church and belonged to the Bethel Fellowship. In 1999 Donna and Eugene retired from farming and they moved to a home in George.  She enjoyed playing cards and participated in several card clubs. She also enjoyed taking the bus trips to the casinos and never missed L.E.O with friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and their families. She was outspoken of how proud she was of each one of them. Most recently she spent time with her dear friend, Lucille Daniels. Her dogs were a major part of her day to day life. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person with a servant’s heart.

On November 21, 2011, Donna’s husband, Eugene died. She remained living in George. In February of 2020 her health began to decline, and she later entered Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN, where she died this past Friday, May 1, 2020, at the age of 78.
