Grace Silvis, age 78, of Bigelow, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, at Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 18, at 10:30 A.M. at American Reformed Church in Worthington, Minnesota, with Rev. Irwin Van Leeuwen and Rev. Ron Lammers officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Worthington, Minnesota.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.

Grace Delores Silvis was born on September 23, 1936 in Grove Lake Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Leonard and Alice (Damstra) Dykstra. She lived her youth in rural Bigelow, Minnesota, on the home farm, and attended country school.
She was united in marriage to Roger Silvis of Bigelow on October 28, 1955 at the Bigelow Christian Reformed Church. They lived in Bigelow. Grace worked at Campbell’s in Worthington for 18 years, before retiring, due to her health. Grace and Roger were custodians at church and Faith Christian High School. Roger passed away on June 20, 2013
She was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Bigelow where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, and evening Bible Study for kids.
Grace liked gardening and growing flowers and loved bird watching. She enjoyed attending auctions and playing the piano and accordion by sound. She was very family orientated.
She moved to the Sibley Nursing and Rehab in December of 2013, where she passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. She enjoyed living there and appreciated the staff.
Those left to cherish her memories are one son and daughter-in-law. Marlon Roger and JenaySilvis of Hartford, SD and their children, Justin Silvis and Alanna Silvis and her son, Branden Solberg; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Lee and Bob Paplow of Bigelow, MN and their children, Troy and Hilary Paplow and their children, Aubree and Cole, Jeff Paplow, Megan and Javier Jimenez and their children, Alexia and Gabriella, Brandon and Ashley Yeske and their children, Ayden, Keirsha and Spenser; one sister, Phyllis and Paul Vander Linden of Ashton, IA; one brother, Herb and Ardis Dykstra of Gilbert, AZ; 3 sisters-in-law, Trudy Dykstra of Sibley, IA, Ercel Dykstra of Worthington, MN, Lavon Dykstra of Bigelow, MN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Loretta and Dick McClain of Harris, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Silvis; her parents; one sister, Joyce Weg; 4 brothers, David Dykstra, Robert Dykstra, Larry Dykstra and infant Wilfred Dykstra.
