Henrietta Krull was born October 15, 1922 in the George and Boyden area to Gerrit and Ida (DeWeerdt) Korthals.  She also attended country school in that area.  On August 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Alvin Krull of George at the Hope Reformed Church parsonage.  Henrietta and Alvin made their home on the same farm where Alvin grew up.  Henrietta lived there until Alvin went into the nursing home and then move to town.  She lived in her home in George until this past December when she moved to the Good Samaritan Society in George.

She was a member of Hope Reformed Church of George and belonged to the Esther Circle.  Henrietta enjoyed sewing, embroidery, making pillowcase dolls with her sister Jeanette, and gardening until Macular degeneration made these things impossible for her to do.  Even though she couldn’t do her favorite things anymore, she was still independent and always had a great attitude.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and liked to listen to the Statler Brothers.  Henrietta loved spending time with her family especially her grandbabies.  This past Thursday May 1st Henrietta passed away at Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids at the age of 91.  She will be greatly missed.

Henrietta is survived by three sons, Myron Krull and his wife, Penny of Rock Rapids; Norman Krull and his wife, Eileen of George; Lloyd Krull and his wife, Delores of George; two daughters, Carol Boltjes and her husband, Lee of Spencer, IA; and Lori Haack and her husband, Perry of LaCrosse, WI;  twelve grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Mary) Korthals, Alfred Korthals, Ed (Pearl) Korthals, Harold (Ardis) Korthals, Albert (Johanna) Korthals; sister, Edith Van Tillburg; sisters-in-law, Velva Korthals and Floy Korthals, all of George, IA; and other extended family members.
