James was born on April 3, 1992 to his parents Charles Harpenau and Tammy (Blackburn) Harpenau in Sioux City, Iowa. He grew up in Remsen, Iowa, where he attended St. Mary’s Schools.

James will be remembered for quick wit and sharp sense of humor. James was always willing to lend a helping hand and worked hard at all he did. From working on the dairy with his dad, to tinkering on his various projects to fill his spare time. James had a loving and empathetic heart, and the world is less bright and a lot less fun with him gone.

James was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd Harpenau.

James leaves behind his father, Charles Harpenau; his mother, Tammy Harpenau; his brother, Jesse (Keyah) Harpenau; his grandmother, Janice Harpenau; many cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.

In lieu of gifts and flowers please direct donations to the family for a cause to be decided at a later date.  Please send to Chuck Harpenau, 938 Main Street, Granville, IA 51022.
